I am a Vancouver-based pianist, teacher, collaborator, and researcher. My work as a performer and educator is grounded in a continued interest in refining how we approach both musical practice and piano pedagogy.
In November 2025, I completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of British Columbia, where my research focused on how pianists make use of effective practice strategies in preparation for optimal performance. My dissertation, Fostering Flow in Piano Performance through Effective Practice (2025), examines how structured approaches to piano practice, as well as specific pianistic practice methods, help students foster flow on stage.
As a performer, I have appeared in concerts across Canada, the United States, and Europe, performing at venues including Steinway Hall in New York, Sala dei Notari in Perugia, and the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with orchestras and conductors at various stages of my development, including performances of concertos including Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto, Beethoven’s Piano Concert in C Major, No. 1, and Mozart Two Piano Concerto, K. 365. More recently, I performed a series of 18 solo recitals as part of the Candlelight Concert Series in Vancouver, 8 of which were sold out.
Chamber music is an important part of my musical life. Together with my husband and colleague, pianist Nicholas Rada, I have performed as a piano duo, with appearances in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Our work reflects a shared interest in collaboration and in bringing piano music to a wide range of audiences.

Alongside performance, I remain committed to community engagement and education. Since 2025, I have served as Director of Kids and Community Outreach for the Vancouver Piano Sessions festival and as a Piano Advisor to the Pacific International Youth Music Society. Between 2021 and 2023, I served as an Executive Board Member and Social Media Chair for the Vancouver Westcoast Music Society. have also been involved with Music Fest Perugia in various capacities over the years, both as a performer and as part of the festival’s administrative and media team.
My work as an educator extends to guest lectures, workshops, and adjudication. I greatly enjoy sharing my work with educators, and have been invited multiple times to present my research on flow and effective practice in piano performance. Recent invited lectures include presentations of my DMA dissertation research for Richmond BCRMTA (April 2026), UBC’s Piano Pedagogy (MUSC 340) course (March 2026; November 2023), and the Theory and Principles of Music Education (EDCP 562B) course at UBC (January 2025; January 2023), at the invitation of Dr. Scott Goble and Professor Mark Anderson.
In addition to my research presentations, I have led workshops for youth focused on musical development and expression, including Musical Masks and Step into Sound at the Vancouver Piano Sessions (2025), and and have participated as a panel speaker for Youth Helping Youth British Columbia. I have also presented on digital engagement for musicians, including a guest lecture on social media in the arts at Vancouver Community College (March 2026).
I hold degrees from the University of British Columbia (DMA, MMus) and the Mannes School of Music in New York (BMus), where I studied with a number of dedicated teachers and mentors who have shaped my artistic and pedagogical approach.
Teaching remains a central part of my work. I have over 15 years of experience teaching piano and theory, and I am the co-founder and Artistic Director of the RR Academy of Music in Vancouver. In my studio, I work with students at all levels, supporting both their technical development and broader musicianship through piano, theory, and related disciplines. I am particularly interested in helping students develop structured, effective practice habits and a deeper understanding of their musical process.
I continue to view both performance and teaching as ongoing journey of discovery, and I am grateful for the many students, colleagues, and mentors who continue to shape my work.
